This award recognizes Local Section YCCs that demonstrate organizational stability, solid membership and participation, involvement with their ACS local section, and an overall balance of activities (career development, social, public outreach, etc.)
Outstanding New Local Section Younger Chemists Committee
This award is presented to new Local Section YCCs that demonstrate an outstanding potential for organization and growth
Eligibility: Newly established LSYCC in the past 2 years or a revived LSYCC that had been dormant for the previous 3 years
Outstanding or Creative Local Section Younger Chemists Committee Event
This award recognizes Local Section YCCs or divisional events that had a great impact on younger chemists (career development, public outreach, membership recruitment/retention, social event, etc.)

Nomination Process/Materials
Local Section Nomination
Local Sections wishing to be recognized for their younger chemist activities may self-nominate themselves by including the LSYCC Event Report Form with their LSYCC Annual Report
The deadline for submitting Local Section Annual Reports is February 15
Division Nomination
Divisions wishing to be recognized for their younger chemist activities may self-nominate themselves by including the LSYCC Event Report Form with their Division Annual Report
The deadline for submitting Division Annual Reports is February 15
This section needs to be self-contained because only this section will be sent to the ChemLuminary awards committee. Please do not reference your final report as the judging committee relies only on the specific entry for the younger chemist ChemLuminary nominations. Things to consider in the report may include but are not required are:
- Number of LSYCC members
- Number of event participants (LSYCC and non-LSYCC attendees)
- Description of event(s) (new and/or reoccurring or series)
- Growth in LSYCC membership and/or events
- Organizational structure (committee, single person, etc)
- Advertising/publicity
- Funding for event
- Co-sponsored events
- Participant feedback (quotes, survey, etc)
