When and why did you join the YCC?
I joined YCC shortly after founding the Queen’s University International Student Chapter of the American Chemical Society (Q-ACS) here at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario Canada. After about a year with Q-ACS, I quickly saw the impact of ACS on my career and the chemical sciences at large, so I wanted to join YCC to further contribute to and support efforts to help and promote young(er) chemists.

What is your favorite part about being on the YCC?
My favorite part about being on the YCC has been the people whom I have met. Every ACS National Meeting is a blast, and I always look forward to (re)convening with members of the YCC and beyond.

How has your career taken a unique or unexpected path?
When I first commenced my chemical career journey, I never anticipated that my studies would take me abroad. However, I am deeply grateful for the experiences and perspectives that I have gained as an international student in Canada. My time at Queen’s and as part of YCC has been transformative.
